Conference Site - Pruhonice

The charming village Pruhonice is situated close to the D 1 highway (E50, E65) Prague Brno, Exit 6, some 15 km southeast of downtown Prague. For the exact location of the village see the map. It is a quite place within reach of Prague's public transportation system

The Castle and the Park

The castle was established as a fortified Romanesque settlement in the 12th century and was soon remodelled into a small Gothic castle. This in turn was rebuilt into an enclosed Renaissance castle in the 16th century. At beginning of the 19th century the castle was reconstructed in Empire style, and at the end of the same century it underwent its last reconstruction, in so-called "Czech Neo-Renaissance" style. The oldest preserved part is the small Romanesque church.

The park was established in 1885, its present area is about 250 hectares with about 40km of small roads or paths.

The congress Centre

The Congress Centre was established in 1993 after the reconstruction of buildings that had formed part of the estate of Count A. E. Sylva Tarouca. It now belongs to the Research Institute of Ornamental Gardening and meets all the basic conditions needed for meetings of a medium size, i.e. with at most 200 attendees. The Centre is close to Pruhonice Castle, its historic park and Dendrological Garden, which are landscape sites of European importance. The address is:
